The country name of Yamatai (arrows, mountains & a tall rock) was composed of five names of the allied
countries. Four names of "Officers"
were originally those of the allied countries,
which were recorded by the Chinese in "Gishi
Wajinden". Since the alliance had been
made, each country became a county in the
Yamatai Country without any change in the
name, and so was the governor's.

Miyazaki Prefecture
The names of four officers
were as follows, starting from a higher rank,
according to the "Gishi Wajinden".
1. Ikima (a five-hill mountain)
2. Mimashiwo (three mountains & four tails)
3. Mimakakuki (three mountains, a wide storehouse &
a hill)
4. Nakatai ((an) inside wide (place) & a tall rock)
Three names of the officers
in the higher ranks contain a word 'ma',
and that of Nakatai in the lowest rank does
'ta-i', which can be assembled to the three
words 'ma-ta-i' in the name of 'Ya-ma-ta-i
(arrows, mountains & a tall rock)'.
However, the word 'ya' at the top of the name of 'Yamatai'
is missing in those of the four officers. It shows that there was another
country existed when the allied country Yamatai was formed, other than
the countries corresponding to the area under the control of each 'Officer'.
Therefore, the name of the missing country must have the word 'ya' in it.
